CMT Films is preparing to start production on a new major motion picture starring some big Hollywood talent. Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Robert Duvall will begin shooting Crazy Heart in and around Albuquerque, NM in August.

Crazy Heart, based on the book by Thomas Cobb, is about a down-on-his-luck Country singer (Bridges) with a bit of an alcohol problem. His relationship with a female reporter (Gyllenhaal) helps get his life and career back on track.

The movie's soundtrack and film score will be produced by award winning producer/composer/musician T Bone Burnett along with songwriter Stephan Bruton. Bridges, who released an album in 2000, is set to perform original songs for both the film and the soundtrack.

Crazy Heart is set for release in mid-2009.
