Capitol Records group Lady Antebellum, armed with a brand new video, will soon be making the media rounds. Currently on the Country charts with their new single, "Lookin' For A Good Time," the trio just released the video for the song, and as of August 19th it became available for preview exclusively through iTunes.
If you remember the classic music themed TV shows of the 60's like Ed Sullivan, Bandstand, even Shin-Dig and Hullabaloo, you will definitely pick up on the effect that director Chris Hicky was shooting for. The video also follows the story of a young couple trying to put that 'spark' back into their relationship.
"I knew that Lady A would want something different for this song, a video that lives across the street from 'typical,' explains Hicky. "For me there was something nostalgically playful about the music, I just kept envisioning a late 1960's variety show, sort of an homage to Ed Sullivan and the American bandstand idea of a televised performance. It was meant to be a bit campy and over the top, and I knew if anybody could pull it off Lady Antebellum would do so in grand fashion. Not only did they dominate, they took the video to a level of wit and charm that blew me away. They are so cool, so fun, and so happy to be doing what they do."
On August 27th the group will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform the new single plus other songs, on Sept 8th they'll be featured on the ABC-TV telecast of the CMA Music Festival, called CMA Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock, and they will also be the featured artist of an upcoming DirecTv Country concert.
