Red Hot Chili Peppers have broken up ...for a year, at least. Lead singer Anthony Kiedis told Rolling Stone magazine that the band members will take 12 months off to do their own thing and be with their families.

He says bass player Flea and guitarist John Frusciante will work on solo albums. After the long break, the Peppers will get back to work.
