Veteran progressive rockers Yes will hit the road this summer for a 40th anniversary tour. "Close To The Edge and Back" will kick off at the Quebec City Festival on July 12th and run all the way through an August 22nd gig in Los Angeles.
It's the classic lineup of singer Jon Anderson, bass player Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White and filling in for his dad Rick on keyboards, Oliver Wakeman.
Yes will also release a new live album this summer, and do an "American Idol" type contest with VH1 Classic called "Your Move With Yes."
The cable channel will accept videos from aspiring singers, and the winner gets to sing with Jon Anderson onstage at an upcoming Yes concert.
The veteran band is also working on new material. Lead singer Jon Anderson said they have written four extended multi-part compositions in the style of their 1970's albums "Close To The Edge" or "Tales From Topographic Oceans." Jon says there is also talk of going on the road with the hitmaking 80's lineup of Yes which included singer-guitarist Trevor Rabin and founding keyboard player Tony Kaye.
