The Hannah Montana star says fans can expect a very "grown-up" album in Breakout, in stores July 22nd.
"My last one, Meet Miley Cyrus, was more just meeting me, finding out who I am, and here it's more getting in depth of what's been going on in my life in the past year, says Miley."
Cyrus wrote all but two of the songs herself.
"I just hope this record showcases that more than anything, I'm a writer," she says.
She's already described her latest single and video, "7 Things," as an "angry little therapy moment for me."
Cyrus is in the middle of filming the feature film version of Hannah Montana in Nashville. She will be hosting the Teen Choice Awards in L.A. on August 3rd.
